Nio Tech Corp ("Nio Tech," "we," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit nio-tech.net or hire us for a project, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact form submissions: name, email, phone, property type, project type, project description.
- Invoice payments: invoice number and email (for verification). Card and bank details are entered on Stripe's hosted payment page — Nio Tech never sees or stores card numbers.
- Email correspondence: anything you choose to send to support@nio-tech.net or support@nio-tech.net.
- Project information: property address, building access details, and any system configuration we install.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer, and timestamps. Used for security and debugging only.
- Cookies: we use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies for site functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site.
2. How we use your information
- Respond to inquiries and provide quotes.
- Schedule, deliver, and support installations.
- Process invoice payments through Stripe and reconcile to QuickBooks.
- Comply with legal obligations (tax, insurance, building permits).
- Improve site reliability and security.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade contact lists.
3. Who we share information with
- Stripe — processes card and ACH payments. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
- QuickBooks (Intuit) — invoicing and accounting records. Subject to Intuit's privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosts our website. Receives IP-level server logs.
- Manufacturers and service partners — when needed for warranty claims (e.g., a Hikvision camera RMA), we share only the equipment serial number and your name.
- Legal authorities — when required by subpoena, court order, or applicable law.
4. Data retention
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months unless we have an active project relationship. Project records, invoices, and warranties are retained for up to 7 years for tax and warranty purposes. You may request earlier deletion (see below).
5. Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you may:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt out of any future marketing emails.

6. Children's privacy
Nio Tech serves businesses and homeowners. The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Site traffic uses TLS 1.2+ encryption. Payment processing is PCI-DSS compliant via Stripe. Internal systems use multi-factor authentication. Despite these controls, no system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovery in compliance with applicable law.
8. Cookies and tracking
The site uses only strictly-necessary cookies (session and CSRF tokens). We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking trackers on this site as of the date above.
9. Third-party links
The site may link to manufacturer pages, social media, or partner sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before sharing information with them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or applicable law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site for at least 30 days.
